Brown Cinnamon Rice
Ingredients:
- 2 cups Brown Rice
- ½ cup Dried Currants (Kishmish)
- 1½ tsp Ground Cinnamon (Dalchini)
- ½ cup Almonds (chopped)
- 5 cups Water
- Sugar to taste
Direction:
Wash the brown rice properly. Boil enough water in a pan and add sugar to it. Add brown rice to the pan and cook it over medium heat till rice turns tender. Keep it covered for 10 to 15 minutes, put off the flame. Add almonds, dried currants, and grounded cinnamons to the rice in the pan. You can add other spices to it, if you wish. Stir it properly. The delicious brown Cinnamon Rice is ready to serve.
Cabbage Rice Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 Whole Cabbage
- 1-1/2 cup Basmati Rice
- 1 cup Green Peas (soaked)
- 2 Green Chilies (chopped)
- 2 Medium-Sized Onions (sliced)
- 2-3 pods Garlic (chopped)
- 2 tbsp Coriander Powder
- 1 Tomato (chopped)
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 inch Ginger (chopped)
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 5-6 twigs Coriander Leaves
- 1 tsp Red Chili Powder
- 2 tbsp Oil
- Salt to taste
Directions:
Cook the rice in a way that each grain becomes separate. Allow it to cool completely. Put chopped cabbage, a pinch of salt and turmeric powder in a vessel. Keep it on medium flame. Allow time for cabbage to get cooked properly. Cook the peas in a pressure cooker. Take the cooker out of the flame immediately after 1 whistle. Heat the oil in a saucepan Add cumin seeds and allow spluttering. Now you can add chopped chilies, ginger, garlic, tomato and onion slices into it. Stir till onions get light golden color. Now add cooked cabbage, coriander powder peas, red chili powder, and turmeric powder to the above. Once the cabbage gets slightly tender, add the cooked rice and a pinch of salt to the above. - 1 1/2 cups Cornmeal
- 1 tablespoon Baking powder
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 2 Eggs
- 2 1/2 cups Milk
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2/3 cup White Sugar
- 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil
Direction:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Combine corn meal and milk in a small bowl and wait for 15 minutes. Take whisk together flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder in a large bowl.
