Exciting Card Games
Crazy Eights
Although ‘crazy eights’ is a pleasurable card game for kids, adults can enjoy this card game as well! The game can be played between 2, 3, or 4 players with a standard 52-card deck. The goal of the game is to discard all of your cards. If you are playing with two players, distribute seven cards each. If you are playing with three or four players, distribute five cards each. The remaining cards are kept face down in the middle. This forms the “draw pile”. The topmost card of the stack is then turned over which starts the “discard pile”. Now, each player has to add cards to the discard pile by matching the card facing up either by suit or by rank. If a player doesn’t have a card to add on the discard pile either by suit or a number, he /she must draw cards until he/she can play. All the "8" are wild cards and can be played on any card. The first player who discards all the cards is declared the winner.
Blackjack
The blackjack is one of the most addictive and interesting of all card games. Although there are many variation of this game, the basic objective of this card game is to get a hand (stack) which is more than the dealer’s hand (stack), but should not exceed 21. The king and queen each have 10 points, while the ace is counted either as 1 or as 11 points. All the other cards have their normal face value. The challenge is to make a hand (stand) which is greater than the dealer’s, but it also should not exceed 21.
Liverpool Rummy
Liverpool rummy is yet another fun card game that card players love to play. The game has seven rounds, and each round has a separate set of rules. Liverpool rummy is played with 2 decks of 52 cards plus their jokers and can be played with 3 or more players.
Go Boom
Go Boom is another trick taking game, similar to crazy eights. The game can be played with 2 to 12 players. The objective of this game is to be the first player to get rid of all the cards in your hand. It is a fun family card game and kids can participate in this game as well.
3-13
This is a simpler version of rummy and can be played between 2, 3, or 4 players. The aim of the game is to form sets or groups and sequence of cards and lay them on the table. The cards left in a player’s hand at the end of the game will be counted as score against him or her. So, a player with no cards in his or her hands wins the game, while the player with maximum score loses the game.
