Cat eye makeup is a vintage trend that seems to be making a comeback and taking the town by storm. With just one sweeping stroke, you can transform your eyes from “beautiful” to “glamorous”, and this never seems out of place, no matter what the occasion is. Cat eye makeup is quite simplistic and natural, contrary to other types of makeup. It can add to your sex appeal, while not looking too flirtatious. At the same time, the makeup can highlight your feminine and mysterious side. If you have also decided that the cat eye is the look for you this season, you will need to practice the basic techniques involved in its application. While they are not exactly difficult to master, they do require a certain amount of practice with a steady hand, so that you get the best results. The primary tool that is used to get those perfect cat eyes is the good old eyeliner. Depending upon how you wield this “magic wand”, you can make your cat eyes look thin, sharp, pointed, smudgy or even fat. The following tips will show you just how to do cat eye makeup and get that look you have been eying for so long.

Cat Eye Makeup Tips & Instructions
What You Will Need
- Eyeliner (liquid, powder or pencil, preferably in dark brown or black)
- Eyelash Curler
- Eyebrow Pencil
- Mascara (black)
- Concealer
- Eye Shadow (beige or taupe)
- Small Cotton Buds (preferably Q-tips), soaked in eye makeup remover
- Tweezers
Instructions
- Using the tweezers, remove any stray eyebrow hair that would come in the way of your “work of art”.
- Cover dark circles around the eyes by judicious use of concealer, either in liquid or powder form.
- Add definition and lift to your eyes by curling your eyelashes with the curler.
- Hold your eyelid taut at the outer end and lift it slightly. Keeping your hand steady, start working with your eyeliner from the inner eye and towards the outside.
- Flare the line up in a sweeping stroke and thicken the line, tapering it off to a sharp point. If you are not confident about getting it right in the first place, you can apply a few small dots for the pattern that you would like to apply the eyeliner in, and then fill it up.
- Apply your eye shadow just above the eyeliner, such that it extends up, towards your brow bone. Blend the edges of the eyeliner and the eye shadow.
- Use your eyebrow pencil to enhance your eyebrows, so that your cat eyes stand out even more.
- Apply 3 coats of mascara, allowing each coat to dry before applying the next. Comb out your eyelashes in order to prevent clumping.
- Look out for any smudges and remove them with the eye makeup remover.
- Done! Now, you are all set to the world on fire, with your new ‘catty’ look!
