In The Oven
Supplies Needed
- Oven, with broiler
- Red Peppers
- Plastic Bag
- Baking Sheet
- Paper Towels
Instructions
- First of all, you need to turn your oven broiler on the low setting and let it preheat well.
- While the oven gets hot, you need to wash the peppers thoroughly in cold water, to remove all the dirt and dust.
- After the peppers are cleaned, get a paper towel and dry them with it. Thereafter, arrange them on a metal baking sheet.
- Place the baking sheet inside the preheated broiler and let them bake for a few minutes.
- Keep a close eye on the peppers, to notice it when their skins begin to turn brown and blister.
- After one minute, remove the peppers from the broiler. Remember; do not let the skin of the peppers char to the point that they turn black.
- Remove the peppers from the oven and turn them around carefully, to expose their other side upwards.
- Place the baking sheet back in the oven and continue roasting the peppers.
- When the exposed side also gets brown and blistered, it is the time to remove the peppers from the oven.
- Place the peppers in a large quart or gallon size plastic bag, if possible with a zipper lock as well.
- Seal the bag (or close the zipper) and let the roasted peppers steam inside, for at least 15 to 20 minutes.
- Now, take the peppers out of the bag and remove their brown and blistered skin.
- Your roasted peppers are ready to be eaten. You can chop them right now, leaving them with the seeds in place, or slice them open and deseed, before consuming.
On The Grill

- Grill
- Red Peppers
- Bowl, with lid
- Paper Towels
Instructions
- Wash the peppers thoroughly in cold water, to remove all the dirt and dust, and then wipe them dry with a paper towel.
- Turn on the grill and place a clean fresh red pepper directly on the grill top. Keep on turning the pepper frequently.
- Grill the pepper till the skin turns completely brown and starts to blister. Now, remove it from the grill and place in a bowl.
- Cover the bowl with a lid, to make it airtight, and let the roasted peppers steam inside, for at least 15 to 20 minutes.
- Now, take the peppers out of the bag and remove their brown and blistered skin.
- Your roasted peppers are ready to be eaten. You can chop them right now, leaving them with the seeds in place, or slice them open and deseed, before consuming.
