Best Way Of Removing Acrylic Nails

Things Required
  • Nail Filer
  • Nail Clipper
  • Glass Bowl
  • Nail Polish Remover
  • Petroleum Jelly
  • Nail Buffer
  • Orangewood Stick
  • Clean Towel
  • Water
  • Moisturizer
  • Olive Oil
Procedure
  • The first step is to cut the acrylic nails. Trim the nails down to as short as possible, using a nail clipper. This will make it easier for you to remove the acrylic nails.
  • File off the gel or the glossy coat from the top of your acrylic nails, using a nail file.
  • Apply a thin coat of petroleum jelly to the skin surrounding your nails.
  • Now, fill a glass bowl with acetone nail polish remover.
  • Soak your nails in the bowl. The acetone in the nail polish remover will loosen the glue, which has attached the acrylic nails to your natural ones.
  • Keep your fingers submerged in the bowl, until the glue has been dissolved completely. This may take 15 to 20 minutes, depending upon the hardness of the glue.
  • When the glue gets dissolved completely, peel off the acrylic nails. Do this in a gentle manner, so that the process is not painful.
  • If the acrylic nails do not peel off easily, dip your fingers in the nail polish remover once again or scrape them off using an orangewood stick.
  • After you have removed all the acrylic nails, wash your hands thoroughly with water. This will remove the leftover nail polish remover and the petroleum jelly from your nails and the skin around them.
  • If glue is still left on your nails, get rid of it by simply buffing it off. Make use of a nail buffer for the purpose.
  • Towel-dry your hands and massage them with few drops of olive oil or moisturizer.
  • Apply a drop of olive oil into your nails, nail beds and massage them well, for five minutes. This process will restore the moisture that was lost due to the use of acetone nail polish remover.
  • You may adopt this process for your toenails as well.
