Instructions
-
Begin by ‘preparing’ your nails for the acrylic nail tips. For this, you will need to get hold of nail files and a nail clip first. Trim your nails and file them to achieve a smooth and clean look. Rough edges or uneven nails are big no-no as they will destroy the very purpose of applying acrylic nails.
-
When trimming your nails make it a point to cut your nails back to the skin. This will help eliminate the risk of losing half of your nail, in case your acrylic nail happens to chip off. However, don’t cut too deep into the skin, lest you end up bruising your fingers.
-
Once done with trimming and filing your nails, use a non-acetone nail polish remover to remove all traces of nail polish and acrylic. You do not need to follow this step if your nails are not painted.
-
Place your acrylic nail tips right next to a bottle of glue and begin applying the same onto the acrylic nail tips. The best way to apply glue is to add a drop to the tip of the acrylic nail and move bottom up to the little indentation close to where the edge of the nail should go.
-
In case you apply the glue all wrong, you can remove the glue by immediately soaking the nail in water.
-
Using an acrylic nail tip cutter, adjust the length of your acrylic nails to suit your need. File away rough edges if you feel the need to do so.
-
Pour liquid acrylic into a dish. Open up a container of acrylic powder. Now, dip a brush into the liquid acrylic, wipe both sides of a brush on a paper towel, dip the brush in the liquid acrylic again and wipe it against the side of the powdered acrylic container.
-
Now, apply what you see on the brush onto the edge of your acrylic nails and onto your natural nail as well. Don’t stop at applying. Make sure you spread out the ‘application’ evenly. Remove any excess residue on the nail with your brush. Apply the acrylic nails onto your natural nails.
-
After the acrylic dries off, file the sides of the acrylic nail to give it a more natural appeal. Apply nail oil on your cuticles to provide them with some moisture.
