One of the popular Middle Eastern dips, hummus is not only delicious, but boasts of a great nutritional value as well. At the same time, the appetizer is quite easy to make. Easy Hummus Dip Recipe
 
With Tahini
 
Ingredients
  • 1 can (16 ounces) Chickpeas
  • ¼ cup Water, from the can of Chickpeas
  • 3-5 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1½ tbsp Tahini
  • 2 Garlic Cloves, crushed
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • Parsley, for garnishing
  • Pita Bread
  • Sliced Red Chili / Cayenne Pepper 
Instructions
  • The first step would be to drain the chickpeas from their can and keep the water aside.
  • Now, mix all the ingredients, except for the chickpeas water and olive oil, and churn them in a food processor/ blender.
  • Once the mixture gets churned, add the chickpeas water to it and blend for five minutes, or until the mixture is smooth and properly mixed.
  • Scoop the mixture from the blender and place it in a large serving bowl. Create a sort of well in the mixture, by pushing it to the sides.
  • In the hummus well, pour 2 tbsp of olive oil and garnish it with some parsley.
  • If you want the hummus to be spicy, addsliced red chili or a bit of cayenne pepper to it.
  • The hummus dip is ready. You can serve it instantly, with toasted/warm pita bread, or refrigerate it for later use. 
Without Tahini
 
Ingredients
  • 1 can Chickpeas
  • 1/4 cup Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • Veggies/ Pita Chips/ Pita Bread 
Instructions
  • The first step would be to mix all the ingredients and blend them in a food processor, until the mixture turns creamy and smooth.
  • Scoop out the mixture from the blender and serve it with veggies, pita chips or pita bread. 
Some Tips
  • Hummus can last in the fridge for 3 days only. If you want it to last for some more time, say a month, put it in the freezer and store.
  • In case the hummus turns dry after you store it in the fridge/freezer, add a little bit of olive oil.
