-
Alternatively, if the plate is big enough and you are sure about your drawing skills, you can go ahead and draw the butterfly pattern directly on the plate.
-
Whatever it is you choose to do, once you are done with the reproduction of the butterfly pattern, simply cut it out it with a pair of sharp scissors.

Color the butterfly with crayons or use paints. If you choose to use crayons, your butterfly is ready right after your done coloring. If you choose to use paints, you will have to wait until the paint dries before the paper plate butterfly can be considered done.
Butterfly Bookmarks
You Will Need
-
1 bag Assorted Beads
-
Hot-Glue Sticks
-
20 inches of Memory Wire
-
Glue Gun
-
8 inches of Ribbon
-
1 Rhinestone or Sequin
Instructions
-
Begin by placing 10 beads on the middle of the 20-inch wire and bend the wire into two loops. The loops should be about 2 inches in diameter. This makes for the bottom part of the wings of the butterfly with each loop having five wings.
-
Then install twenty beads to the end of the wires and ten more beads on each side. Proceed to bend the wire to make two larger loops. The diameter of the loops should be around four to five inches. These loops make for the upper part of the butterfly’s wings.
-
Now wrap the non-beaded part of the wire around the middle wires of the loops. This can help hold the wings together and make the body of the butterfly. Once you are done with this, wrap the bottom of the butterfly. This will make it easier for you to put the butterfly together since you will already have the antennae in position.
-
To make the antennae, bend the two end pieces of the wire at the top of the butterfly’s body. Then make a small loop at the end of each wire. Glue on a small bead at the end of each antenna and follow this up by gluing the larger rhinestone or sequins onto the middle to complete the body of the butterfly.
-
Finish off by tying the end of the ribbon to the bottom of the body of the butterfly. This ribbon makes for the part of the bookmark that will be placed in the book you plan to read or are reading.
