How To Steam Crab Legs

Crab legs are considered a delicacy that many people love to indulge their taste buds in. It is seen that crabs have a substantial amount of meat in the legs, especially claws, sometimes more than in the body itself. You can easily get cooked, but frozen, crab legs in the market. After purchasing them from the store, all you have to do is microwave, boil or steam them and…they are ready to eat. In the following lines, we have provided instructions on how to steam crab legs.
 
Steamed Crab Legs Recipe
 
Supplies Required 
  • Steamer/ Large Pot
  • 3 cups Water
  • 1 tsp Seasoning Salt
  • Crab Legs
  • Wire Rack
  • Melted Butter/ Cocktail Sauce 
Instructions 
  • First of all, take a steamer or large pot and pour 3 cups of water in it.
  • Add salt and let the water come to boil.
  • In the meantime, thaw the crab legs well.
  • After the water starts boiling, add thawed crab legs to the steamer basket and cover.
  • In case you are making use of a large pot, place the thawed crab legs in a wire rack and then cover the pot.
  • After cover the steamer/large pot, let the crab legs steam for 5 to 7 minutes.
  • The moment you get the aroma of freshly steamed crabs, it means that the crab legs are almost done.
  • After 1-2 minutes, remove crab legs from the steamer/large pot and serve with melted butter or cocktail sauce.
