How To Get Smoky Eyes

The style of smokey eyes has been in vogue for quite a while. From celebrities to ramp models, you can see every other woman sporting this look. It has the magical effect of making anyone look very attractive, desirable and very, very seductive! The key to the perfect smoky eyes and the desired smudge effect lies in proper application of eye shadow and liner. If you want to know how to get the irresistible smoky eyes, go through this article. We have listed the makeup tips to help you get perfect smokey eyes.

How To Get Smoky Eyes
  • Apply a light shaded concealer to the under eye area as well as over your eyelid. This will create a smooth base for the eye liner and eye shadow that you will be applying afterwards.
  • Trace the upper lash line, from inner corner to the outer, using an eye pencil. Line the bottom rim of the eye as well.
  • If you want black, brown or gray smokey eyes, go for an eye pencil in one of the above colors. Violet colored eye liner pencil creates a stunning jewel-toned smoky eye. You may also opt for deep green or blue eye liner pencil.
  • To soften the look, smudge both the lash lines with a cotton swab or an eyeliner brush.
  • Choose an eye shadow - a powder or a creamy one, in a shade lighter than that of the eye pencil. To create the base color, apply a light eye shadow, from the lids to your brow bone, in sweeping strokes.
  • Now it is the time to get the smoky effect. Choose an eye shadow of the same shade as the eye pencil and blend it with the lighter one that you have just applied. Using an eye shadow brush, sweep the color into the upper and lower lash lines.
  • Curl up the eye lashes using a curler and then apply two coats of mascara, to give the final touch to your smokey eyes.
