Making Oatmeal Soap 

Oatmeal Honey Soap Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 oz bar of Lye soap
  • 1 cup Oatmeal (coarsely ground)
  • 1 tsp Honey
  • 5 tsp of Water
  • 1 Vessel
  • Soap Molds
Method
  • Grate the bars of lye soap into small pieces.
  • Add water and honey to the grated soap and cook it and allow it to melt.
  • Add the ground oatmeal to the soap that is melted.
  • Mix it well until the oatmeal blends well with the mixture.
  • Pour this mixture into soap moulds.
  • Allow it to cool for sometime under room temperature.
  • Put the mould into the fridge at least for a day.
  • Next day, remove the soap from the mold and your basic homemade oatmeal honey soap is ready for use. 

Method To Make Oatmeal Soap In Microwave

Things Required
  • 1 bar Soap (any soap that is mild)
  • 3 tbsp Oatmeal
  • 4 tbsp Water
  • Large microwave bowl
  • Soap mold
  • 1 Knife  
Method
  • Powder the oatmeal until it turns into flakes.
  • Grate the bar of soap into small pieces and put them in a microwave bowl.
  • Add water to the soap mixture and keep it on high for 1 or 2 minutes in the microwave. Make sure the soap doesn’t bubble and come out of the bowl. Stir the mixture as needed.
  • Remove the bowl from the microwave and add the oatmeal mixture to it and mix the ingredients well.
  • Pour the mixture into the soap molds.
  • Allow it to cool under room temperature for some time and then keep it in the refrigerator for a minimum of 24 hours.
  • Remove from the mold and your soap is ready to be used. 

Herbal Oatmeal Soap

Ingredients
  • 4 oz Castile soap
  • ¼ cup of dried Oats
  • ¼ cup distilled Water
  • 1 tbsp dried Chamomile
  • 1 tbsp dried Rosemary
  • 1 tbsp Jojoba oil
  • 1 Sauce pan
  • Soap molds
Method
  • Grate the 4 oz bar of castile soap.
  • Grind the oatmeal like a fine powder.
  • In a saucepan add ¼ cup of distilled water and allow it to boil. Remove from heat and add the chamomile and dried rosemary and allow it to reduce for half an hour to get a strong herbal mixture.
  • Strain the herbs out of the water and allow the herbal mixture to boil again. Bring down the heat and add the grated castile soap little by little until a sticky mass is formed.
  • Remove the pan from the heat and mix the oatmeal powder and the jojoba oil. Stir well until the powder and oil are mixed well.
  • Pour this mixture into molds and allow it to cool for some time in room temperature and then refrigerate for a day.
  • Remove the soap from the molds after it is hardened. Your herbal oatmeal soap is now ready for use.
