Homemade Liquid Dish Soap Recipes
 
With Castile Soap
 
Ingredients
  • 2 cups Liquid Castile Soap
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1 tsp Fresh Lemon Juice (2 drops lemon essential oil)
  • 5 drops Essential Oil (of your choice)
  • 1/2 cup White Vinegar (optional)
 
Instructions
  • First of all, put the liquid castile soap in a mixing bowl and add water. Mix well.
  • Now, stir in the lemon juice and essential oil.
  • Finally, add white vinegar and combine thoroughly with the other ingredients.
  • Pour the liquid dish soap in a squeeze bottle and shake well before use. 
With Soap Flakes
 
Ingredients
  • 2 cups Soap Flakes
  • 1 gallon Warm Water
  • 2 tbsp Glycerin (optional)
  • 1/2 cup Lemon Juice or White Vinegar
  • A few drops Essential Oils (for scent), if desired 
Instructions
  • Take a large, non-reactive pan and place all the soap flakes in it, along with water.
  • Put the pan over flame and reduce the heat to low.
  • Heat the mixture, while making sure to stir it on a constant basis, till the time the soap gets completely dissolved in water.
  • Add glycerin to the soapy mixture and stir well. Remove the pan from flame.
  • Let the soapy mixture rest at room temperature, for a few minutes, so that it cools down.
  • Now, add the lemon juice and essential oils to the mixture and combine thoroughly.
  • Pour the liquid dish soap in a squeeze bottle and shake well before use. 
With Solid Soap Shavings
 
Ingredients
  • 2 cups Soap Shavings
  • 2-3 cups Hot Water
  • More Water
  • 1/2 cup Lemon Juice or White Vinegar 
Instructions
  • Get a small bucket and put all the soap shavings inside it.
  • Add hot water to the bucket and leave it undisturbed for several hours, or even overnight.
  • After the soap shavings have softened considerably, stir and mash them thoroughly, till the time a smooth paste is formed.
  • Add more hot water to the soapy paste, to dilute it to the consistency required.
  • Mix in lemon juice or white vinegar.
  • Pour the liquid dish soap in a squeeze bottle and shake well before use.
