Classic Tomato Pizza Sauce
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoon Butter
- 16 ounces Tomato Puree
- 1 tsp. basil powder
- 3 large onions finely chopped
- 3 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 tomatoes
- Black pepper to taste
- 3 Garlic cloves chopped and crushed
- 1 tsp oregano powder
- Salt to taste
Preparation
- Melt the butter in a saucepan and add the olive oil to it. Now sauté the garlic and onion in the sauce pan until golden brown.
- Now add the other ingredients to it and bring them all to a boil. Now cook them on low for almost two hours. Stir occasionally to avoid them from setting at the bottom.
- Give time for the tomatoes to soften completely. You could also use a potato masher for crushing them.
- Continue stirring the concoction until the mixture reaches the consistency of a rich soup. You can run it through a sieve if there are many tomatoes seeds and if the mixture is not very smooth. You can add seasoning according to your taste.
