VGA

The VGA cable will provide better picture quality than the S-video and like the S-Video cable is equally affordable. However, one drawback of this method is that you would not find a VGA port in any regular television, making this option available only in case of HDTV.

DVI
DVI or ‘digital visual interface’ is another method by which you can connect your computer to your television set. This method uses the digital signal and will provide you with a higher quality picture than S-video or VGA. However, in order to put this method to use, your computer should have a DVI connection and your TV needs to be a HDTV. Another drawback of this method is that the cord is not cheap and might not be affordable to all. 

HDMI

You can also connect your computer to your television set with a scan converter box. The scan converter box uses a VGA signal and converts it to S-video or a computer video.
