Hair Braiding Techniques
 
The Basic Plait 
If you are clueless about how to plait hair then basic plait is for you. Here is the way to go about it: 
  • Comb your hair to get rid of entangled hair.
  • Next, divide your hair into three sections.
  • Ensure that all three sections have equal amount of hair.
  • Now cross over the strands of right section through the middle section.
  • Hold the strands firmly.
  • Now, take the strands from the left section and cross them over the middle section.
  • Tighten your grip.
  • Keep crossing over the middle section by alternating between right and left sections.
  • When you reach the end of hair, tie a colorful elastic band.
  • You are done with the plait. 
The French Plait 
French Plait has been one of the popular hairstyle. It’s a hot favorite among celebrities. So, give yourself that stylish look. Go the French way! 
  • First, comb your hair to get rid of entangled hair. It’s important to get rid of entangled hair to make your French plait look tidy.
  • Divide your hair from the top of your head into five to seven layers.
  • For the top layer, divide the strands into three parts.
  • Divide other layers into two sections.
  • Start with the top layer.
  • From the top section of the head, take strands between your thumb and forefinger.
  • Once you get a grip over these strands, divide them into three parts.
  • Ensure that all three sections have equal amount of hair.
  • Now, start plaiting your hair.
  • Take the left strand of hair and cross them over the center ones.
  • Then, cross the right strands over the center ones.
  • Complete the crossing part with the top layers first.
  • Now, it’s time to move on to the second layer.
  • Take the left side of the second layer and add it to the first layer on the left side.
  • Continue plaiting by crossing over the center portion.
  • Now, from the right side, take the strands from the second layer and add it to first layer on the left side.
  • Again, cross over the entire right section over the center portion.
  • Repeat this with all the layers until all the layers have been added by crossing over through the middle.
  • When you are done with all the layers, continue like a basic braid.
  • Tie the end of the hair with a colorful elastic band. 
Cute Plait 
If you have long hair, then you can go for cute plait. 
  • Gather all hair to one side of your head and make the basic plait.
  • Pull you plait across the head.
  • Pin it firmly using hairpins.
  • Here is your cute plait, which looks both stylish and elegant.
