Given the current scenario, health is soon becoming a serious concern for many individuals. You can look at it from any angle, but good health is really hard to come by. Why is this so? Is there something seriously wrong with the human race as a whole? Well, maybe there is. Just take a look at the people in your life. It’s a colleague who is suffering from cancer, it’s a dear friend dealing with a kidney ailment, it’s a member of the family suffering from dengue fever and it’s a neighbor’s kid yelling in pain because of a toothache. Is all of this really happening? Yes, it surely is and that is mostly so because people just refuse to make that conscious decision to tread on the path of the good health. This is that one decision that if taken well in time can prove to be a life saver. You have been given the chance to make that decision today, please do be wise enough to make it and stick by it come what may.
Becoming Healthy
Exercise
Any which way you look at it, there can’t really be anything bad about exercising, unless you push yourself to unsafe limits. However, exercising by itself is not a bad thing, and when done in moderation it really is the best thing that can happen to your health. Contrary to popular belief, exercising just does not stand to signify hitting the gym. It can be so much more about other things and less about hitting the gym. For example, playing a game of football, cricket, basketball, swimming, skipping, cycling, walking, running, etc all make for great forms of exercises. As long as you are getting a good dose of such activities in your life, you sure are on your way to health.
Eating Right
If you are the kind of a person who gets a lot of exercise and does not bother to eat right, you cannot never really be considered healthy. Why is this so? Well, because with good food comes good health. To truly be a healthy individual, you will have to eat the right amounts of protein, fat, carbohydrates and fiber. Neglecting the need to eat right or the need to eat healthy can only prove to be detrimental to your health, and that is definitely not something you would want on your hands. Eating right can also mean you drink less and don’t even think about smoking or taking drugs. So make that decision today to stay away from unhealthy food by jumping to much healthier food options.
Drink Water
“Water water everywhere, but not a drop to drink”. You have probably heard of this saying. It best applies to men at sea. However, if this saying holds true in your life and you don’t have access to quality drinking water, maybe then you’re excused for not drinking enough water. However, if you are not drinking enough water in spite of enjoying access to an unlimited supply of the same, there is no pardon for you. Be a wise person and make that move to drink at least six to eight glasses of water per day.
Rest
You exercise hard, you eat right and you drink enough water, but the circle can never be made complete if you do not get enough of rest. Enough of rest here stands to imply at least seven to eight hours of sleep per day. Sometimes, however, depending on how tired you are, a little more than seven to eight hours of sleep will also do just fine. If you fail to get your stipulated amount of rest per day, then you are not really heading anywhere close to health. So make the decision to hit the sack and stay in it for a good seven to eight hours per day.
