Bloody Mary Mix Recipe

What comes to your mind when you hear of the “Bloody Mary”? Well, it’s definitely not a swear word! Interestingly, it is one of the most popular cocktails that have lasted for very long, and that has over 20 variations of an original classic theme. The origin of the Bloody Mary is disputed. However, disputes over its origin do not stop it from being one of the most popular cocktails, and is supposed to be good to cure hangovers. This article explores three different ways to mix a Bloody Mary, and you can add a dash of your own ingenuity to any of these mixes, to blend yourself a one-of-a-kind drink. The primary ingredients for a Bloody Mary are vodka and tomato juice, to which various spices or flavorings can be added based on choice. Some of these choices range from Worcestershire sauce, horseradish, celery, olive, beef consommé or bouillon, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, Tabasco sauce, lemon juice, and celery salt. Classic Bloody Mary – Bloody Mary 
  • 1 1/2 ounces Vodka
  • 1/2 cup Tomato Juice
  • Worcestershire Sauce to taste
  • Tabasco to taste
  • 1 Celery Stick for garnish
  • 1 Lemon Wedge for garnish
  • 2 teaspoons fresh Lemon Juice 
Mix together the vodka, tomato juice, lemon juice as well as the Tabasco and Worcestershire sauce, and add in a cup of ice cubes to the mix. Add salt and pepper and shake the mixture well. Fill a tall glass with ice cubes and strain the mixture into the glass. The celery stick and lemon wedge could be used to garnish the drink. You could also use salt on the rims of the glass for good measure.
Spicy Bloody Mary – Wasabi Bloody Mary
  • 1/2 fresh Lime Juice
  • 1 1/2 cups Vodka
  • 4 1/2 tsp Wasabi
  • 6 cups low-salt V8 (veggie) Juice
  • 1 1/4 tsp Hot Pepper Sauce
  • 3/4 tsp Salt
  • 3 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce 
Combine the wasabi and lemon juice until the wasabi completely dissolves. After pouring the mix into a pitcher, add the veggie juice, pepper sauce, salt, and Worcestershire sauce. Chill the mixture. Add the vodka. Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour over the ice. Garnish with pickled asparagus or celery
Creative Bloody Mary – Bloody Mary Jolly 
  • 1/2 glass Spicy Hot V8 (veggie) Juice
  • 1 shot Vodka
  • 1 tsp Olive Juice
  • 1 pinch Horseradish
  • 1 pinch Peppers
  • 1/2 glass Clamato Juice
  • 1 dash Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 pinch Celery Salt
  • 1 dash Tabasco Sauce 
Add the vodka, olive juice, horseradish, veggie juice, peppers, Clamato juice, Worcestershire sauce, celery salt and Tabasco juice together into a glass and stir well until it is completely blended. A lemon or a lime wedge could be used to garnish the drink. You could also add in a chunk of cheese or an olive.
