Easy Date Cake Recipes

Eggless Date Cake


  • 20-22 Dates (seedless)
  • 1 cup Hot Milk
  • ¾ cup Sugar
  • 1 ½ cup All Purpose Flour
  • ½ cup Vegetable Oil or ½ cup Butter
  • 1 ¼ tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 tbsp Nuts (chopped)
  • ¼ tsp Nutmeg (grated)
  • 1 tbsp Raisins
  • Heat the milk. Put the dates in a bowl and pour the hot milk over the dates. Keep aside till it cools.
  • Put the soaked dates in a blender along with the milk they were soaked in and blend them till almost smooth.
  • Add sugar and blend again. Pour the mixture in a mixing bowl.
  • Add oil or butter and mix well. Ensure that the butter is at room temperature before you add it.
  • Sieve together the all-purpose flour and baking soda.
  • Add the flour, one table spoon at a time and mix slowly.
  • Add the nuts, nutmeg powder and mix well. The mixture will now be thick.
  • Pre-heat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Grease a baking cake dish. Put the mixture in it and smoothen the top.
  • Add additional chopped nuts and raisins on the top if you wish.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes.
  • To test if the cake is done, insert a knife in the middle of the cake at 35 minutes. The cake is done if the knife comes out clean.
  • Switch the oven off and leave the cake in the oven for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Remove the cake pan from the oven and cool a little.
  • Loosen the edges with a knife. Place a plate on the top and turn the pan upside down. Let it cool for some time.
  • Cut in wedges and serve.

Date Cake Recipe With Egg

  • 1 ½ cup All Purpose Flour
  • ½ cup Milk
  • 100 g Butter
  • 1¼ cup Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 cup Dates (pitted and chopped)
  • 1 cup Boiling Water
  • ½ cup Walnuts (chopped)
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Add the dates, baking soda and baking powder to the boiling water.
  • Allow it to cool. Sift the flour and beat the egg.
  • Cream the butter and the sugar.
  • Add the beaten egg to the butter and sugar mixture.
  • Add the flour and dates to the butter, sugar and egg.
  • Add milk and half of the walnuts.
  • Bake in a 20 cm round tin for 60 minutes.
  • Remove and let it cool on a cake cooling rack.
  • Put the remaining walnuts on the top for decoration.
