How To Bleach Hair Blonde

Things Required

• Plastic bowl
• Blonde powder bleach
• Gloves
• Foil
• Applicator brush
• Shampoo and conditioner
• 30 or 40 volume peroxide

Procedure

• Get a friend of yours to help you and direct you while bleaching your hair blonde. Having someone to direct will save you the time and will help in proper and even application of bleach.
• Do not use household bleaches to bleach your hair blonde. Only professional bleach should be used in order to get quality and desired result and to minimize hair damage.
• Make sure that you have not bleached or coloured your hair for at least 4 weeks before. It is important to leave 4 weeks of gap before bleaching again to avoid over-processing of your hair.
• Make sure to deep condition your hair a night before you plan to bleach. Leave the conditioner on for at least 30 minutes for it to blend well with your hair and work effectively.
• Purchase all the necessary items needed to prepare and apply bleach. The bleach and the other equipments you buy will depend on your hair colour. Make sure to use only volume 30 or 40 developer to get desired result.
• Make sure that you apply the bleach solution only when your hair is dry. Bleach will work effectively only if the hair is completely dry and clean of any other products and hairspray.
• Once all the preparations are done and once your hair is ready to be bleached, mix the bleach powder and peroxide in the bowl. Part your hair into different sections, starting from the back before applying the bleach over.
• Place a piece of foil beneath your hair and use the brush to spread the bleach all over your hair. Make sure that you apply the bleach leaving one centimetre gap from the roots. Once the bleach is all applied, fold the piece of foil around and leave to set.
• Follow the same procedure of placing the foil, applying and folding the foil for all sections of your hair. When the entire head is covered, open up the foil and check how the colour is processing.
• You should start applying the bleach to the roots only when the sections of hair in the foil start getting yellow. It might get a bit messy; therefore make sure you don’t let your skin come in contact of the bleach.
• You can remove the foil after 30-45 minutes after you notice the roots and the hair in the foil turning white-blonde. Wash your hair with warm water after removing the foils.
• Apply blonde toner conditioner to neutralize the brassy and orange bits of hair. Leave the conditioner on for 30 minutes before washing it out. If you don’t have the conditioner, you might have to bleach your hair again the next day.
• Make sure not to straighten or blow-dry your hair for at least 12 hours after bleaching. There is need to avoid blow-drying and straightening to prevent any possible damage to your hair.
