Extend your body upwards on each breathe taken in and breathe normally. It helps in calming the nerves and gives a rhythmic pattern to the breathing.
 
Shoulder Lifts
It is also one of the easiest exercises and doesn’t need much space and time for execution. All you have to do is to lift your left shoulder up with the breathe in, and put it down with the breathe out. Do the same with the right shoulder too. Now take both shoulders up and both shoulders down with inhaling and exhaling respectively. For beginners you can start with one set of five for each. It helps in improving the posture and discourages stiffness, which restrict breathing.
 
Sun Salutation
Surya namaskara or sun salutation is a combo of 12 poses in a sequence. Respiratory mechanism can be combated by the chronological breathing series during the Sun Salutation. It is one of the most important exercises of asthma relief and can be done under the inspection of a trainer.
 
Kapalabhati Breathing Technique
Kabalbhati is a highly meditated breathing technique that requires the breathing in short sequences rapidly and consciously controlling the movements of the diaphragm exercising the entire respiratory system. It is one of the very effective exercises however; it should be done only after the permission of the physician and under the surveillance of a professional yoga teacher.
 
Savasana Yoga Exercise - Corpse Pose
This exercise can be done after lying on the back with arms at the side with the palms facing up. The legs should be together and straight with the feet rolled out to the sides. Now tilt your forehead higher than your chin and let your body relax completely. Hold the position for ten minutes with regular breathing and then release.
 
Anuloma Viloma

Anuloma Viloma means for and against the natural order and is also known as the alternate nostril breathing technique. In this exercise, air is inhaled through one nostril and exhaled though the other maintaining the retention of breath during the interval. It provides the breathing a rhythm and helps in combating asthma.
