The ‘Super-Zoom’ race in the Indian market for camera has just got hotter. How? Nikon has just entered the race with its new model, CoolPix P80 Super-Zoom. The camera comes with 10 MP resolution and an 18x optical zoom lens (35mm equivalent of 27-486 mm). It is a high performance, compact camera, which is as good for the professionals as for the family photographers. The stylish look of the camera has been complimented with CCD image sensor and Nikon's innovative EXPEED digital image processing concept.
Apart from clicking excellent, CoolPix P80 also provides you with the creative freedom to edit them. It has been equipped with NIKKOR optics that ensures quality images, even from a considerable distance. Optical Vibration Reduction (VR) feature of the camera helps you take steady shots, while utilizing its versatile zoom capabilities. P80 also has intuitive controls, via dedicated command and mode dials, which provide easy access to shooting controls and exposure mode settings.
The four different modes of the camera make sure that you are able to tap D-SLR functions, while maintaining the simplicity of COOLPIX functionality. To add to the features of the camera is an all-new Sport Continuous Mode, which allows users to shoot as many as 30 consecutive pictures at four, six and even 13 frames per second. In case there is not enough light while clicking pictures, don’t worry. With a light sensitivity range up to ISO 6400², you can forget about having blurred night pictures.
CoolPix P80 Super-Zoom comes with a large, 2.7-inch LCD monitor, which has anti-reflection coating, wide viewing angle and 230,000 dots of high resolution. This makes your photo-viewing experience an entirely pleasurable one. There is also an eye level electronic viewfinder, enabling quick easy viewing in difficult lighting conditions. Fifteen different scene-optimized and movie modes, along with ability to shoot pictures in both black and white and color simultaneously, is an excellent add-on to the camera.
‘Nikon In-Camera Innovations’, comprising of In-Camera Red-Eye FixTM, D-Lighting and Face Priority AF, make the camera a delight to shoot with. CoolPix P80 Super-Zoom also has D-Lighting that compensates for excessive back-light or insufficient flash in images, in the playback mode. Nikon's COOLPIX Software Suite, pre-installed in the camera, allows you to organize, edit and share photos. The PictBridge support makes it compatible with SD/SDHC cards. P80 will be available in the market from April 2008 & will be launched at a price of $399.95.
