Ingredients
  • 6 slices White Bread
  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 4 Eggs
  • 2 cups Hot Milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Essence
  • 1/2 cup Raisins
 
Instructions
  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Butter the bread slices evenly and cut them into triangles. Arrange the buttered bread slices in a baking tray, in a layer of two.
  • In a bowl, put hot milk, sugar, eggs and vanilla essence and blend till smooth.
  • Pour this mixture over the bread slices, till they are completely soaked. Sprinkle raisins on top.
  • Place the dish in preheated oven and bake for about forty minutes.
  • Serve hot or cold.
 
Fruity Bread & Butter Pudding
 
Preparation Time: 10-15 minutes
Cooking Time: 40-50 minutes

Ingredients
  • 1 Pear, cubed
  • 1 Mango, cubed
  • 6 slices Bread
  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1/4 cup Raisins
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Essence
 
Instructions
  • Preheat oven to 180°C
  • Butter the bread and slice it in triangles.
  • Grease the baking dish and put the pear and mango cubes on it.
  • Spread the bread triangles over the fruits, so that they are fully covered and sprinkle raisins on top.
  • Heat milk and sugar in a pan, but do not bring it to a boil.
  • Break eggs into a bowl and beat until smooth.
  • Cool down the milk and whip in the eggs, beating continuously till well mixed. Add vanilla essence and mix.

Ingredients
  • 4 slices Bread, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cup canned Cherries
  • 1/4 cup Almonds, blanched and sliced
  • 2 fresh Prunes, washed and wiped
  • 1/2 cup Cherry Juice
  • 1 tbsp Brandy
  • 1/4 tsp Cinnamon Powder
  • 1 Egg
  • 3 tbsp Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Cherry Jam
  • 10-12 fresh Cherries
  • 1/4 tsp Almond Essence
  • 3/4 cup Low-fat Cream
 
Instructions
  • In a bowl, put the bread pieces and pour brandy on top, along with two tablespoons cherry juice. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, mix egg, cream and sugar. Add canned cherries, prunes, and two tablespoons cherry juice. Mix well.
  • Add brandy-soaked bread, sliced almonds, and cinnamon powder to the mixture.
  • Transfer the mixture into a microwave glass bowl and microwave on high for five minutes.
  • Allow cooling for some time and then turn it out onto a serving dish.
  • For sauce, take fresh cherries, cherry jam, remaining cherry juice, and cook for five minutes.
  • Pour the sauce over the pudding and serve warm.
