Ford Kuga

If you are eager to know how the upcoming compact crossover Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) manufactured by the Europe Ford Company is going to look like, then here’s a vivid description for you. To go on sale in June 2008, this five-seater Ford Kuga takes its cue from the iosis concept. The iosis concept is inspired by an aircraft’s ‘kinetic design’ that adheres to the theory of energy of motion via features like angled, pivoting doors. Company officials state that this has been done to enhance visual excitement as well as the on-road driving quality of the vehicle.

Infact the ‘kinetic design’ donned by the latest Ford vehicle ‘Kuga’ has been adopted by only a few other recent European Ford products such as the new Mondeo mid-size sedan and C-MAX crossover. The Kinetic Design language of the Kuga Ford is established through its dynamic lines, full surfaces and muscular look. Further hallmarks include a gaping trapezoidal front grills, wide-eyed headlamps, rising belt-line, scalloped body sides etc. Power is derived from a two liter 135-bhp turbo diesel linked to a six-speed manual gearbox. The options of both front-wheel and four wheel drive will be provided.

Apart from the powerful looking sculpted body panels, the Ford Kuga has big wheel arches fitted with huge tires. This compact crossover SUV vehicle’s coupe-like roof has been elevated to a more usual wagon-like look. The inside of the Ford Kuga flaunts a roomy and light feel primarily due to the big panoramic glass roof. The interiors are black featuring a certain kind of technical-grained fabric and leather with a complementary orange piping. Now this is contrasted with piano-white accents on the center console and in the door inserts.

A Blaupunkt navigation system with seven-inch screen catches the eye in the center stack and includes images from a rearview mirror when the Ford Kuga is made to do a reverse. The upcoming Ford Kuga will be available in a range of nine stunning body colors. This will comprise two brand new metallic colors – 'Chill' and 'Electric White. The all-new Ford Kuga, the Ford Company's first entry into the growing crossover segment will go on sale in June 2008. For its two trims – Zetec and titanium, prices starts from £20,495 for Zetec and £22,495 for Titanium.
