Homemade Hair Spray Recipe

There are so many hair grooming products available in the market today that some remain beyond our knowledge. However a few of them, such as shampoo, conditioner, hairspray and hair gel, are used by us on a regular basis. Talking about hairspray, it is used on the hair after you are ready with the hairstyle. This is because the main purpose behind using hairspray is to hold the hairstyle in place. Though the market is full of hairsprays, of different types and brands, it is advisable to stick to a homemade one. If you don't know how to make one, the homemade hair spray recipe, given here, will prove handy.
 
How To Make Your Own Hair Spray
 
Lemon Hair Spray
 
Supplies Needed
  • 1 Lemon
  • 2 cups Water
  • Cheesecloth
  • 1 Spray Bottle
  • 1 ounce Rubbing Alcohol 
Instructions
  • Take the lemon and chop it into wedges. (You can use orange, instead of lemon, if your hair is dry)
  • Take a pot and put 2 cups water in it.
  • Place the pot on flame and let it come to boil.
  • Now, add lemon wedges to the pot and let the water boil, until it gets reduced to one-half of the original volume.
  • Remove the pot from flame and let the water cool down.
  • Now, strain the lemon water through cheesecloth.
  • Add rubbing alcohol to the water, mix well and pour it into a spray bottle.
  • Store it in the refrigerator. 
Sugar-Oil Hair Spray
 
Supplies Needed
  • 1 cup Hot Purified Water
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 3-5 drops Oil
  • 1 tbsp Vodka 
Instructions 
  • Take a pan and put the hot purified water in it.
  • Add sugar and place the pan on flame.
  • Let the water come to boil, making sure that the sugar dissolves well.
  • Remove the pot from flame and let the water cool down a bit.
  • Add oil to the water, followed by vodka.
  • Pour the water into a spray bottle.
  • Store it in the refrigerator. 
Some Tips 
  • You can add scent to your hair spray, by mixing in a few drops of your favorite essential oil.
  • If, and when, you feel that the hair spray has become too thick, add some water to it.
  • After using hairspray, make sure to wash the nozzle of the bottle. This will help you avoid any clogging after use.
