Subjecting the hair to such products and various chemical treatments like bleaching and colouring has its own advantages, but regular use of these products can lead to hair damage over a period of time. The incessant use of hair products leads to hair breakage, split ends, thinning etc, that leaves the hair in an irreparable state. One of the main reasons for most hair problems is the loss of moisture and excessive dryness. The growing concern of hair damage is making many people resort to homemade and natural shampoos. Homemade Shampoo Recipes

Chamomile Fields Shampoo

  • 4 tbsp pure Soap Flakes
  • 1 ½ tbsp Glycerine
  • 4 bags of Chamomile Tea
  • Dip the tea bags in 1 ½ cups of boiled water for about 10 minutes.
  • After ten minutes remove the tea bags from the water and add the soap flakes to the liquid.
  • Let the liquid stand until the soap softens, then stir in the glycerine until the mixture is well blended.
  • Pour the mixture into a bottle and store in a cool and dark place.

Blonde Castile Shampoo

  • 4 Chamomile Tea bags
  • 3 oz liquid Castile Soap
  • ½ tsp Olive Oil
  • Steep the tea bags and water together in a covered pan for 30 minutes.
  • Strain and let the water cool.
  • Mix in the remaining ingredients and store in a bottle in a dark place.

Energizing Shampoo 

  • 12 drops of Peppermint Essential Oils
  • 3 oz liquid Castle Oil
  • 12 drops of Grapefruit Essential Oils
  • 12 drops of Lavender Essential Oils
  • Mix all the ingredients together and store the mixture in a bottle.
  • Use the mixture like any other shampoo and rinse well.

Oily Hair Shampoo

  • 12 drops of Cypress Essential Oils
  • 3 oz liquid Castile Soap
  • 12 drops Sage Essential Oils
  • 12 drops Eucalyptus Essential Oils
  • Mix all the ingredients together in a large bowl until blended well.
  • Store the mixture in a bottle in a dark and cool place.

Tree Castile Shampoo

  • 5 drops of Tea Tree Essential Oils
  • 6 oz liquid Castile Soap
  • ½ tsp Jojoba Oil
  • Mix together the tea tree essential oil, jojoba oil and liquid castile soap in a bowl. Let it stand for some time.
  • Store the shampoo in a clean and dry bottle.

Moisturizing Castile Shampoo

  • 1 tsp Coconut Oil
  • 6 oz Liquid Castile Soap
  • ½ tsp Avocado
  • Mix all the ingredients together and store in a bottle.
  • Use the mixture like any other normal shampoo. Make sure to wash your hair well after use.

Organic Aloe Vera Shampoo For Dry Hair

  • 1 tsp organic Avocado Oil
  • ½ cup liquid Castile Soap
  • ½ cup organic Aloe Vera Gel
  • 1 tsp pure vegetable Glycerine
  • Put all the ingredients together in a container and mix them well.
  • Once combined, transfer it to a plastic bottle. Make sure to shake the bottle well before using the shampoo.

Herbal Shampoo For Normal Hair

  • 5 tbsp Chamomile Flowers
  • 4 cups of Distilled Water
  • 4 oz unscented Castile Soap Flakes
  • Put the chamomile flowers in a pot and pour in the boiling distilled water.
  • Cover the pot and let it steep for 20-30 minutes. Strain out the flowers and add the castile soap flakes.
  • Transfer the shampoo to a glass or a plastic bottle. You can use this shampoo to wash your hair every day.
