Black Tea

Things Required
  • Tea Pot
  • Tea Kettle

  • Water

  • Strainer
Method
  • Make use of tap water for brewing a cup of tea. If the tap water of your locality doesn't taste good, use bottled or filtered water.
  • Boil water in a tea kettle. In the meantime, warm the teapot by using hot water. Roll the water in the teapot and then toss it out.
  • The next step is to put the tea leaves in the teapot. For a cup of tea, you would require half a teaspoon of tea leaves.
  • Now, pour hot water in the teapot. Make sure that the water is really boiling.
  • Put the lid on the teapot and brew the tea for about five minutes, over medium flame.
  • When you feel the pleasant aroma of tea leaves coming from your teapot, your tea has been brewed.
  • After brewing the tea, filter it through a steel strainer, into the cup. Add sugar to taste and enjoy your hot cup of black tea!
Green Tea

Things Required
  • Tea Pot
  • Candy Thermometer
  • Tea Leaves
  • Water
  • Tea Cup
  • Strainer
Method
  • First, measure the desired amount of tea leaves. Typically, about one teaspoon of tea leaves is required to brew one cup of green tea.
  • Now, put the tea leaves in a strainer and reserve.
  • Pour one cup of water in a stainless steel teapot. You do not have to boil the water, because boiling water would ruin the flavor of green tea. Just heat the water to 80 degrees Celsius. You may measure the temperature of the water, while it is being heated, by using a candy thermometer.
  • Place the strainer, containing the tea leaves, over an empty tea cup.
  • Pour the heated water into the cup, through the strainer that contains the tea leaves.
  • Wait for a few minutes, so that the tea gets its pleasant aroma and flavor. Do not steep your tea for more than two minutes, or it would taste bitter.
  • Allow the tea to cool for sometime and then enjoy your enticing cup of green tea.
