How To Clean Laptop Screen

A laptop that is used regularly requires frequent cleaning of its screen. While considering cleaning your laptop, there are a few things that should be taken care of. Various LCD cleaning products are available in the market, but the best one to choose is the one that does not contain alcohol or ammonia, as they can degrade the screen.   • 2 Old Cotton T-Shirts
  • Cotton Swabs
  • 1 can Compressed Air
  • White Vinegar
  • Distilled Water
 
Instructions
 
  • Press the trigger on the compressed air can and sweep it across your laptop screen, working from the top to bottom.
  • Combine half cup each of white vinegar and distilled water.
  • Pour this monitor cleaner into a small squirt bottle.
  • Spray some cleaner onto your old cotton T-shirt and apply to the laptop screen. Rub the T-shirt against the screen very gently.
  • Use the second T-shirt to remove any residual moisture, by gently wiping down the monitor.
  • Dab a cotton swab in the cleaner and squeeze out the excess moisture onto the T-shirt.
  • Run the cotton swab carefully around the edges of the laptop screen.
  • Run the dry section of your T-shirt around the edges of the screen.
  • Your laptop will be sparking clean by now.
 
Tips
 
  • Turn off and unplug your laptop before proceeding with the cleaning process.
  • Clean your laptop screen once in every two or three weeks.
  • For removing a stubborn smudge or splatter from your screen, rub it gently, for a longer duration. Do not push or rub harder; else, it can damage the monitor.
  • Never use paper products such as tissue, toilet paper, paper towel, etc. for cleaning laptop screens. They can scratch your screen and leave little flecks of paper on it.
  • Do not spray the cleaning solution directly to the screen. Doing so can run the water into other parts of your laptop.
  • Avoid using your laptop in an overly dusty or dirty environment.
  • Do not excessively wet the cloth with the solution. Use only the required amount of the solution.
  • Use only distilled water to clean your laptop screen. Using tap water can leave stains on the screen, since it contains minerals.
  • Before closing the screen, ensure that it is completely dry. Wipe out any remaining liquid with the dry area of a cotton cloth.
