Throughout the world, waxing and shaving are regarded as two of the most common methods used for hair removal. However, there are many people who do not make use of either of the two, whether they do not suit them or they do not find the methods to be too effective. For all such people, body sugaring is the best option at hand. It is quite similar to waxing, except for the fact that the mixture used therein comprises of ingredients that are different than those in wax. Body Sugaring Recipes For Hair Removal
Recipe 1
Ingredients
- 1 cup Sugar
- ½ Lemon (its juice squeezed out and stored)
- ¼ cup Honey
- A little bit of Molasses (like a drizzle)
Instructions
- Take a microwave-safe bowl and put lemon, sugar, and honey in it. Mix the ingredients well.
- Place the bowl in the microwave and heat on high, for about 2-3 minutes or until the mixture bubbles down to a smooth consistency.
- You can skip the above step and place the mixture in a pan and keep it on low flame. However, make sure that you keep stirring continuously.
- After the mixture has attained smooth consistency, take it out from the microwave (or remove from flame) and set aside.
- Put the mixture in a microwave-safe container and seal tightly.
Recipe 2
Ingredients
- 2 cups Sugar
- ¼ cup Cold Water
- ¼ cup Lemon Juice (pure)
Instructions
- Take a medium saucepan and place it on flame.
- Add water, sugar and lemon juice in the pan and heat over low flame.
- While the mixture heats up, keep stirring it, every 15 seconds, so as to save it from burning.
- When you feel that small bubbles have begun to form in the mixture, check its temperature with a candy thermometer.
- When the temperature reaches 250oF, remove the saucepan from heat.
- Set the mixture and let it cool down, for at least 15 minutes.
- Put the mixture in a microwave-safe container and seal tightly.
Body Sugaring Technique
- Before using the sugaring mixture, it is advisable to heat the same in the microwave, say for 20 seconds. It should be warm, but nor scalding hot.
- With the help of cornstarch, dust the area that has to be waxed, so as to remove oil from the same.
- Making use of a wooden stick; spread a very thin layer, about 1/8", of the sugaring mixture onto the clean and dusted area.
- Immediately cover the mixture with a strip of cotton fabric and use brisk strokes of your hand on top, in the direction of hair growth.
- Pulling taut the skin around the sugared area, quickly rip away the cotton strip, against the direction of hair growth.
- Repeating the above steps, use the sugaring mixture throughout the area that needs to be made hair-free.
