- Tape Measure
- Pencil
- Paper
Instructions
- Take the tape and measure the length of the room.
- Next, you need to determine the width of the room.
- Write both length and breadth on a paper and multiply.
- Now, you will have the total area (in square foot or square metre) of the room.
- Measure all the smaller sections of the room, like closets, under the stove, refrigerator, etc.
- Add the space required for the smaller sections to the total area.
- Add the waste factor, to the sum arrived in the previous step, by multiplying the total area by 1.05 or 1.10.
- If you have an uneven number with you, round it up to the next whole number.
- The figure that you have with you is the measurement for the hardwood flooring.
