What Is A Yeast Infection

Actually, Yeast infection, which is also known as Candidacies, is the name for a fungal infection called in medical terms as mycosis, which is caused by any fungus of the Candida species. Known as Candida, yeasts are small organisms that live inside the human body. Although the infection can affect any area of the body, they are usually present on human skin and affect the areas of moisture, for example, underarms, in between the toes, and sometimes in the mouth. However, yeasts are mostly found in the vaginal area of both men and women and most commonly affects the vaginal area in a woman. The symptoms generally involve itching and burning sensation in and around vagina. If you notice a dry and flaky skin around your vagina, you may be suffering from yeast infection. Many people generally women experiences a thick discharge, which looks like cottage cheese from their vagina. However, it is not necessary for everyone to experience discharge. A study shows that only 20 percent women experience the discharge, which may or may not have a starchy odor to it. Sometimes the infections can bring out a burning sensation, which you would feel while you are urinating or sometimes before urination too. You may also have rashness or redness in and around your vagina and feel pain during intercourse. 
 
 
Causes Of Yeast Infection
Actually, Candida is a normal part of the flora of the skin and flourishes in the warm areas. Generally, the flourishing of the Candida is kept under control by the acidity of the body, which helps in keeping a check on the growth of the fungus. However, certain causes can cause the acidity to weaken or change which gives the possibility for the growth of yeast. Some of the causes of yeast infection or Candidacies are weak immune systemor because of anyhormonal changes in the body. It may also be because of the consumption of birth control pills. Even pregnancy can trigger yeast infection as during pregnancy, the body goes through various changes and it experiences much hormonal and emotional change. The intake of excess antibiotics also increases the possibility of Candidacies. Under certain medical conditions such as uncontrolled diabetes mellitus are also the main causes of yeast infections. Poor toilet habits, menstruation, taking too much stress are all some other reasons for yeast infections. Wearing exceedingly tight clothes and synthetic underclothes can also increase the possibility of Candidacies.
