Yamaha To Launch Superbikes In India

Who does not have the dream to drive a fast sporty bike on a deserted highway and feel the adrenalin rushing as the wind ruffles in your hair! With movies like Dhoom, Torque and Biker Boyz attracting youngsters in hordes, superbikes have become more than just that wallpaper on your computer screen. According to latest reports, the Japanese bike biggie Yamaha is all set to launch its superbikes in the Indian market. The first ones to be launched are Yamaha MT01 and YZF R1. These two models are expected to vroom in India in November.

It is evident that many youngsters in India are interested in owning a pair of hot wheels, even if it costs a bomb. Those who can afford a high-end lifestyle, can definitely afford a superbike. When the brand name is that of Yamaha, one does not have to even think twice. Yamaha has been a popular choice for fast performance bikes since 1955, winning Grand Prix titles almost every year. Due to wrong strategies adopted by the company after emission control norms, the brand lost its image in India. The spotlight was hogged by other names like Hero Honda and Bajaj.

This time, the company plans to take one step at a time. Initially, there will be only a few dealers across the country as serviceability is very crucial when it comes to super-fast bikes. It has not kept sky rocketing expectations when it comes to sale; annually, it expects to sell a few dozens and is comfortable with that number. This time, the focus is on the image and brand building. Yamaha is known for its stylish, innovative and sporty products and is all set to usher up its image in the Indian market. All one can do is wait and watch if Yamaha manages to deliver what it has expected of itself!
