Yamaha MT 01 Review

This just keeps getting better and better. Yamaha has just launched its macho bike, the MT 01 in India. One look at the mean machine and you will want to stare at it unabashedly with a wide grin on your face. Imagine what taking this bike for test drive would do to your senses! The Yamaha MT 01 bike is a dream-come-true for all you biking enthusiasts. This fire-breathing bike (not literally though!) is a beautiful package of style, unadulterated power and comfort. Though the exact price is not clear, it is estimated to be between Rs. 9- 11 Lakhs.

The mighty engine of the MT 01 unleashes a power of around 1700 cc, which makes you want to take this thing of beauty to the highway and release its full throttle. The exhaust pipes, which look like rocket launchers, are beautifully located just below the rear seat and the seat is by far the most comfortable bike seat you could ever sit on. The air cooled V-twin engine has a torque of 150 Nm at 3750 rpm, enough to bump-start an aircraft! The bike gives out a powerful vibration when kept idle, but it soon eases out into a melodious sound when accelerated. The clutch is very smooth and gear changing is as slick as butter.

The headlight is a bit conventional when it comes to design but is quite powerful and effective. There is a very stylish dash panel with a 3D effect analogue tachometer. It also comes with a digital speedometer and illuminated instrument panel. Though it looks chunky and heavy, the CF die-cast technology makes the bike light and compact and thus easy to maneuver. The Yamaha MT 01 comes in colors of Lava Red, Competition White and Midnight Black. Planning to buy it? Then get ready to face envious stares and wolf whistles on the road!
