TVS, the automobile manufacturing company has recently launched the electric version of its previous two-wheeler model, Scooty Teenz in Gujarat. It is the first electric scooter model of the company, which will be launched all over India by April 2008. The TVS e-scoter will be available in the market at an ex showroom price of Rs. 32,500. Claiming to be a complete package, the scooter offers a convenient ride, easy parking and unique features.
With an expectation of selling over 500 units throughout the state, the company wishes to hit big by launching it throughout the country. The prime target of the company is young women, who travel around 15 to 25 km per day. Keeping this in mind the e-scooter will be available in vibrant colors like Red, Black and Lilac. In addition to this, it promises to make your journey comfortable with the help of its user friendly features.
The Scooty boasts of a large utility space for holding effects. It even claims to provide benefits like low running cost, no pollution, no noise and high durability. Moreover, it is powered by 800 watt engine, which is capable of carrying a load up to 130 kg. It can deliver an average speed of 40 km per hour, on a nine hour charge. This can be enhanced by fifty percent if the user opts for lower speeds, using a unique feature of the scooter, known as ‘range selector’.
