Following the hugely successful Maruti’s True Value and Ford Assured, Toyota Kirloskar Motors India has also launched used car outlets by the name of ‘Toyota you Trust’ in India. Since there are very few vehicle manufacturers in the pre-owned cars sectors, Toyota is attempting to carve a separate niche for itself in the country by trying to organize the largely unorganized used car segment. The initial outlets of this would be opened up in Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai. These outlets will be owned and operated by Toyota’s new car dealers in the respective cities.
Services Offered
The services offered by these outlets will be basically related to trading of the existing car like evaluation, trading-in, and will cater to those buyers who are searching for a certified second hand car. The outlets will function independently but will be linked to the existing new car dealerships in order to get after sales support. The TYT outlets will be employing company trained engineers who will have to undergo a certification process and pre-programmed inspection in order to offer better reliability and pricing for the used car. The customers will also be offered post-purchase one-year warranty or free services during a limited period.
Toyota is also planning to roll out three new car models in India. Though Toyota officials are tight-lipped about the models that are going to be launched in India, reliable sources say that, Corolla Axio and the Fortuner may be the ones heading on to the Indian roads. Toyota may also plan to enter the hatchback segment in India in a couple of years with Daihatsu Sirion. The India specific car, which is to be launched by 2010, is also going to put Toyota in the lead in the automobile sector in India.
