Author
Dan Brown was born and raised in Exeter, New Hampshire. He was the eldest of three siblings. Constance, his mother was a professional musician who played the mouthorgan at church while Richard G.Brown, Dan's father was a well-known mathematics teacher. He used to write textbooks teaching high-school mathematics at Philips Exeter Academy from 1968 till the time he retired in 1982.
Dan Brown graduated from Amherst, and then he started his musical career. He started first by creating effects using a synthesizer, and then produced a children's cassette himself which was titled SynthAnimals that included a collection of various tracks like "Happy Frogs" and "Suzuki Elephants". Subsequently, Brown went on to form his own record company which was known as Dalliance. He also produced a CD titled 'Perspective' in the year 1990.
For a brief period of time, he was working as a teacher. But in 1996, he quit teaching to become a full-time writer. His first book, titled Digital Fortress was published in 1998. His first three novels didn't garner the amount of success that he had hoped for, with fewer than 10,000 copies sold in each printing. It was his fourth novel, 'The Da Vinci Code' which became a bestseller, and even went onto become the top at the New York Times Best Seller list during its first week of release in the year 2003. It has also become one of the most popular books of all time.
