‘Superstar’, unfortunately falters to live upto its name. The film explores familiar territory of ‘look alike’, better known as double role and yet another actor tries to portray the two different personalities. Kunal Khemu, the actor who has been a child artiste and a protagonist in films like ‘Kalyug’ stars in this movie. The film shows the struggle of a rising actor in Bollywood and how destiny can play with lives and change them forever. 

Khemu portrays the dual role with panache and delivers a powerful performance. It is the only reason why you want to watch this movie till the end. His acting does not make you change your position on the chair with discomfort, rather you thank God for talented actors. The script is faulty and that is why we are left wondering as to when did the two characters become friends? The writing does not match up to the performance and instead, tones it down. Performances by Reema Lagoo, Zafar Karachiwala, Vrajesh Hirjee and Darshan Jariwala are worth mentioning. Tulip Joshi does what she is best at; looks good! The story is good, engaging and the performances are pretty good. The film on the whole is average and you can watch it with friends on a lazy Saturday noon!

Superstar Pre Release Review
For all the Kunal Khemmu fans out there, we have reasons to cheer. They are soon to get a double dose of the handsome actor, in his forthcoming film ‘Superstar’. Didn’t get the meaning? Kunak Khemmu will be playing a double role in the movie, which has been directed by Rohit Jugraj, the director of ‘James’. Produced under the banner ‘Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision’, the film will see Tulip Joshi being paired opposite Kunal. Aushima Sawhney will be making her debut with Superstar.
