If reports are to be believed, Spice Corp, in India is set to launch a mobile phone that will empty your pockets by just $20 or Rs. 800. There have been no compromises on the technology used in the phone. This proves that India is capable of producing impressive gadgets, with latest technology at absolutely low costs in a competitive market.
The Global Expo held in Barcelona, Spain, had exhibited this voice-only mobile phone and stirred up immense interest among many global mobile service providers. The phone promises amazing voice quality and clarity at its best. Though the screen is not there, there is an audio program that will announce the digits as they are dialed to avoid errors. In fact, to help visually challenged users, the company is coming up with Braille version of the same. It is said to be launched around April this year when the name of the service provider will be announced.
Right now, it is being manufactured in China though was designed in India. It will be available in a variety of colors, will be compact and lightweight and will be compatible with all the present types of SIM cards. The company sees great potential of selling an immense number of mobile phones in a country that has only 20% mobile phone usage. The rest of the country would definitely like to experiment a cheap mobile that is easy to use. Let’s hope this mobile phone increases India’s mobility.
