Rawalpindi Express of Cricket, Shoaib Akhtar is all set to enter Bollywood with as much force as he exerts on the field! According to reports, the Pakistani fast bowler has got an offer from Bollywood to act in a movie. Shoaib has not said yes till now as he is still exploring the script and is quite interested to take it up. Shoaib was offered a film earlier by ace director Mahesh Bhatt. Apparently the title role of the hit movie “Gangster” was offered to Shoaib. Somehow, things didn’t turn out quite well and the movie eventually went to Shiney Ahuja.
Shoaib said that he is keeping track of latest Bollywood releases and has watched Saawariya and Om Shanti Om off late. Many cricketers have been offered roles in Bollywood movies before, but none of them have really made their mark here. Since, Shoaib has a massive fan following here in India, he might just click with the audience. What’s more, the movie will be a typical ‘Bollywood masala potboiler’, which is usually liked by the audience.
Further information states that director Sanghamitra Chaudhary is the one who came up with the offer for Shoaib. The female leads are yet to be decided, but there are strong chances of Hansika Motwani or Deepika Padukone being cast. There are some problems regarding the dates as Shoaib will not be able to give more than 15 days at a stretch for shooting. The basic story is said to revolve around a Pakistani cricket player who falls for an Indian girl. Amidst much drama and hype, everything gets settled, leading to a happy ending. Hope this happy ending is an entirely new beginning for Shoaib Akhtar!
