Rama Rama Kya Hai Drama Review

Star Cast: Rajpal Yadav, Neha Dhupia, Rati Agnihotri, Anupam Kher, Aashish Chaudhary, Amrita Arora

If you are looking for a light comedy this weekend, head for Rama Rama Hai Kya Drama. Though you wouldn’t exactly roll off the chair, you wouldn’t start whining either. Director Chandrakant Singh has made a sincere effort to present a very serious issue, of incompatibility problems between married couples, in a humorous way. The film reminds you slightly of the kind of cinema done by Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Basu Chatterjee.

As the story unfolds, we find three couples who are facing problems in their marital life. Santosh (Rajpal Yadav) and Shanti (Neha Dhupia) are constantly bickering over something. But what is it exactly, we don’t come to know. The problem is that the story has failed to fully present the reason for the marital discord. The same happens with the couple of Prem (Ashish Chaudhary) and Khushi (Amrita Arora), in which the latter files for a divorce even when her husband is so nice.
Chandrakant Singh has shown great promise, only if he would have had a better script to hold on to. Siddharth and Suhas have provided some great tunes, which make the songs hummable. As far as performances go, Rajpal Yadav is excellent (as usual). Neha Dhupia has also acted pretty well. Aashish could have done better, while Amrita could have done with a few more scenes. Anupam Kher and Rati Agnihotri have done justice to their respective roles. All in all, Rama Rama Hai Kya Drama is a film worth watching once!

Rama Rama Kya Hai Drama Preview
After being swept over by Santa’s gift gallery in terms of some delightful movies, the New Year has arrived to treat you even better. There are a number of movies lined up this year, all of which will vie to get your votes. Leading the parade is Rama Rama Kya Hai Drama, which is releasing on 4th Jan, the first Friday of 2008. Promising to be another rib tickler, the movie is directed by Chandrakant Singhand has been enlivened with music by upcoming music director duo, Siddharth, Suhas.

Rama Rama Kya Hai Drama presents the Indian Charlie Chaplin, Rajpal Yadav at his best, as he once again plays the lead. Besides, the star cast presents a striking contrast, with young faces like, Neha Dhupia, Aashish Chaudhary and Amrita Arora, teamed with veteran actors like Rati Agnihotri and Anupam Kher. The movie, Rama Rama Kya Hai Drama revolves around three married couples; Prem (Ashish Chaudhary) and Khushi (Amrita Arora), Santosh (Rajpal Yadav) and Shanti (Neha Dhupia) and Mr. and Mrs. Khurana (Anupam Kher and Rati Agnihotri).

Santosh is in search of a perfect wife, who is humble as well as obedient. With this aspiration, he marries Shanti, a small town girl, only to find out that she is not the one who he had yearned for. Soon, petty differences start popping up, leaving disappointed Santosh no option, other than dreaming about other women. On the other hand, married life of Prem and Khushi is also not smooth, as Khushi is very demanding as a wife. The story progresses depicting many such events, which finally make Santosh and Prem realize the importance of their respective wives.

Sounds cliché? Well, surely it is. Rama Rama Kya Hai Drama showcases the typical attitude of men, stating the grass is always greener on the other side of fence. The movie is a fun filled comedy, with Rajpal Yadav straining all his muscles and utilizing his gift of the gab to the maximum. The music album of the film is not a chartbuster but presents a wide variety, as it comprises of five songs and five remixes. Thus, the musical side is mass oriented with some good hummable songs. However, to know how far the movie becomes successful in spelling its magic on the audience, we will have to wait till Friday.
