If you want to re-live the cinema of 1970s, then Quick Gun Murugun is the movie for you to watch. Yes, you have read it right! This flick has got nothing less than the dramatic visuals where villain throws Quick Gun Muruganbombs at the hero, but the hero manages to come out untouched. However, the cataleptic bullet fired by the hero definitely hits the villain to announce him dead. You all must have visualized the movie by now and this is just about the crazy fight between hero and villain in Quick Gun Murugun.

Quick Gun Murugun cannot be called stereotypical, though it has the entire stuff scrounged from all stereotypical movies that the Indian cinema has churned so far. In the movie you'll see a simple South Indian cowboy Quick Gun Murugun (Dr. Rajendra Prasad), who believes that it is his duty to serve and protect, deliberately trying to be a superhero. While the villain takes pride in trying his hand in making the best dosa in town and for this, he can even kidnap women who are perfect in making scrumptious dosas.

The misadventure of Quick Gun Murugun and his fight with his arch villain Rice Plate Reddy (Nasser) craft the plot of the movie. With the wish to help people, Quick Gun Murugun gets into a grand battle spanning time and space, from a small South Indian village to Swarglok and ultimately to the metropolitan Mumbai. He takes the love test when he found himself torn between Mango Dolly (Rambha), his lover and his first love Locket Girl (Anu Menon). The movie portrays the war between good and evil, and what makes it different from the other recent movies is that its characters recall the flicks of 1970s.

Shashanka Ghosh, as the Director, has done a good job. But the movie has too much Tamil though explained with sub-titles; it will definitely deter the non-Tamil audience. Dr. Rajendra Prasad and Nasser truly deserve applause, as far as their performances are concerned. Rambha and Anu Menon have done justice to their roles. Both Raju Sundaram and Vinay Pathak have acted quite well. In fact, regarding the acting part, every one has played the role agreeably without much to say. However, Quick Gun Murugan has got South Indian appeal which may restrict its screenplay in other parts of the country.

Quick Gun Murugan Pre-release Review
'Quick Gun Murugan', packed as a hilarious comedy flick, is directed by Shashanka Ghosh, who is also credited with direction of notable films like 'Mumbai Cutting' (2009) and 'Waisa Bhi Hota Hai - Part II' (2003). It has been produced by Anand Surapur and will be released under the banner of 'Phat Phish Motion Pictures', on August 28, 2009. The star cast of the film includes Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Vinay Pathak, Rambha, Sandhya Mridul, Anu Menon, and Ashwin Mushran.

'Quick Gun Murugan' is the story of a simple South Indian cowboy (Dr. Rajendra Prasad), who calls himself 'Quick Gun Murugan' and thinks that it is his duty to serve and protect mankind. He is a comical superhero, with a trademark gun to assist him in his selfless endeavors. The film revolves around his misadventures of catastrophic proportions and his horn-locking with the villain Rice Plate Reddy. Quick gun is launched into a battle which can, at best, be described 'funnily epical', spanning across time and space.

In his battle, Quick gun sees himself transported first to 'Swarlok', from a remote south Indian village and finally, to the cosmopolitan City of Dreams, Mumbai. His love escapades show the unlikely super hero torn between Mango Dolly, his secret lover and his first Love Locket girl, testing his loyalty. Set to release on August 28, 2009, the film promises to be a laugh riot, which will make you puke laughter in every scene, as aptly suggested by its tagline ''Misadventures of an Indian Cowboy".
