Panasonic seems all poised to take over the television market of India. With the aim of wooing Indian customers, the company has come out with its 2008 Viera range, of plasma and LCD televisions. The plasma range has been equipped with three new models, namely TH-50PV80 (50 inch HD ready), TH-42PV80 (42 inch HD ready) and TH-42PV8 (42 inch HD ready). Apart from that, there are four new models making up Viera LCD series, including TX-32LX800 (800 series, 32 inch), TX-37LX80 (80 series, 37 inch), TX-32LX80 (80 series, 32 inch); and TX-32LE8 (8 series, 32 inch).
Apart from the ones launched, Panasonic also has plans of unveiling its 2 full high definition models, in the plasma range, within a short period of time. These two models will be TH-50PY850 (50 inches) and TH-65PY850 (65 inches). Along with that, two new LCD models are also expected to be launched, in the 37 inch [full HD] and 26 inch category. All the models of 2008, including released and to be released, have been equipped with TUF (Tough Under Force) glass panel. This panel covers the front glass of the plasma TV screen, with the aim of providing protection against impacts (up to 4 joules).
900 moving line picture resolution, dynamic contrast of 1,000,000:1; and an extended panel life of up to 100,000 hours are some other features of the new range of TVs. The LCD panel of Viera range has been provided with IPS Alpha technology, with 178 degree wide viewing angle. Its contrast ratio will be 10,000:1 and the TV will also have energy-saving backlight, and Viera link for simple networking. Panasonic's V-real 3, black-box imaging technologies, will form a part of the new range. Then, there will also be V-real PRO 3 Technology, which helps create beautiful, high-definition images.
As per Panasonic, the effect of both the technologies, combined together, is clarity of motion as well as delicate detailing in the expression of each step of gradation. Anti-Reflection Filter and Intelligent Scene controller form the other features of Panasonic Viera Range. The launch price of the range is - Panasonic Plasma TH-42PV80 (Rs 74,990), Panasonic Plasma TH-42PV8 (Rs 69,990), Panasonic Viera LCD TX-32LX800 (Rs 54,900), Panasonic Viera LCD TX-37LX80 (Rs 59,900), Panasonic Viera LCD TX-32LX80 (Rs 46,900) and Panasonic Viera LCD TX-32LE8 (Rs 44,900).
