A popular show that is aired on MTV India is Roadies. This is a reality show that is presently running in its fifth season is popularly known as MTV Roadies 5.0 . The brainchild of Raghu Ram, who is the executive producer of MTV Roadies, this show has received tremendous response from all over the country. The show puts some of the toughest people through a litmus test and challenges their basic survival instincts. The drama, high energy, tension, excitement and fun created by the show are loved by one and all. It is a game where you cannot think of anyone but yourself; the winner gets a prize money of Rs. 5,00,000.
Auditions
Participants are selected in major metros and cities of the country through rigorous audition rounds. It is during the auditions that you need to make yourself noticed and leave an impression on the judges. Even this first round of selecting the right candidate is unnerving, for both the participants and the judges. People sometimes dress up in garish costumes and turn up for the auditions just to make themselves noticed. Else, they will do something totally contrary to the theme of the program to prove that they are talented! The auditions are designed to be obnoxious just to test the attitude of the participant. At the end, 13 finalists are chosen by the judges, Raghu Ram and Nikhil Chinappa (MTV VJ).
The Game Begins…
The finalists are called at a particular place, which is the starting point of the race. There, each of them is given a Hero Honda Karizma bike and an itinerary of the game plan. Unlike the previous shows, this time, the game covers international destinations as well. Participants will be touring Malaysia and Thailand and will be performing their tasks for gaining immunity or the cash prize. The most nail-biting episodes are those that have a vote-out to eliminate a participant. One gets to see dirty politics, tears and high-voltage drama as each participant vies to save himself/herself. The immunity saves a participant from being voted out and is chosen as the temporary leader till the next vote out. The game goes on like this till the last person to survive the politics and tension is declared the winner!
