After a flood of phones like Razrs, Krzrs, Rokrs and Rizers, we have with us an impressive Motorola smartphone that does not sound alike to any of the phones mentioned above. Motoming A1200 is a Linux based mobile phone that relies essentially on touch-screen to perform, definitely turns heads and impresses at the first glance. Though it lacks in certain departments for a smartphone like not having 3G or Wi-Fi, it nevertheless is a cool gadget that reminds you of the glossy walkie-talkies from Star Trek. The design is sturdy, stylish and sleek and the phone scores on volume, voice-quality and music player.
Design and Features
This phone stands out in the crowd of other smart phones, primarily because of its impressive design. The Motoming comes with a transparent flap and smooth rounded edges to make it fit beautifully in your palms. The protective cover is not fully transparent and has a grayish tint to it to make it look all the more futuristic. The ear piece surprisingly is fitted as a round dial on the cover and on a closer look; we see two very fine wires connecting it to the phone. The large screen measures around 2.4 inches and allows clear and strain-free viewing. The A-1200 also has a handwriting recognition option which works pretty well. Just below the screen, you have three keys - Talk key, select button, and End key.Performance
The phone gave a pretty good performance but could have been better if it had 3G or Wi-Fi. The phone gives a clear sound quality and the quality of calling was crystal clear. The sound levels can be adjusted according to the user, though they are not displayed on the screen. The 2 mega-pixel camera could have been a lot better. There are hardly any photo-editing options and the user can click photos in only three resolutions: 1200x1600, 768x1024, and 480x640 pixels. The photos usually appear a bit out of focus in certain shots. The phone becomes a bit sluggish and hangs for a few seconds when the music player and camera is opened up to be used. The battery impresses with a talk-time of more than 4 hours. All in all, the Motoming A1200 is a steal for anyone looking out for a stylish and unique looking phone with impressive features.
