Mitsubishi Motors, the well-known Japanese Automaker, is planning to launch its electric car in India within years. Called i-MIEV (Innovative Mitsubishi Electric Vehicle), this electric car is all set for commercial production. This electric car, created out of alternative propulsion technology, has already been launched in Japan and Hong Kong.
The first “i” in MIEV stands for “innovative” because the car covers a range of batteries, motor and inverter to substitute the “rear midship” engine and fuel tank of the usual car. Works on lithium ion battery, the electric car is said to get charged up to 80% in 30 minutes by means of a special charging system. Initially, the car was intended for public sale by 2010, but now it can be expected earlier in the markets.
