It is high time Bollywood directors realized that the story, writing and screenplay are the aspects that form 
the basis of a good film. ‘Main Aur Mrs Khanna’ suffers from poor writing, which is not only ineffectual, but also inconsistent. It is the story of a couple who is going through financial troubles. The husband goes to another country for work, leaving her wife behind. By the time he comes back to take her, another man enters the picture (though not in the ‘extramarital affair’ sense). What decisions the three individuals take form the rest of the story.

One of them is the sudden good luck of Mrs Khanna, when she gets a job through a friend’s friend, whom she has just met hours ago. Then, she suddenly moves into a palatial mansion. How she would support it on her nominal salary is anybody’s guess! Then, there seems to be almost no communication between Mr Khanna and Mrs Khanna, who are separated by miles. In the age of internet, this is something that seems to be totally unbelievable.
‘Main Aur Mrs Khanna’ has a few positive points as well. It has an interesting climax, the dialogues are good (at places), the music is tuneful, and the cinematography is arresting. Even the performances are delightful. Salman Khan delivers his best and is a pleasure to see him in such a sensible and mature role (after so many comedies). Kareena Kapoor deserves applause for playing her part to perfection. Sohail Khan delivered a controlled performance, while Yash Tonk and Mahek Chahal are good. All in all, this one’s an average film!

The long-wait for ‘Main Aur Mrs Khanna’ is going to be over soon. Starring two of the hottest stars in Bollywood - Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor, the movie is all set to hit the theaters on October 16, 2009, under the banner UTV Motion Pictures and Sohail Khan Production. Apart from that, it also has the comedy prince Govinda, along with Sohail Khan. The film has been produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Sohail Khan and also marks the debut directorial venture of Prem Soni (previously associated with Star India).
Sajid and Wajid have provided the music for ‘Main Aur Mrs Khanna’, with the lyrics being penned down by Junaid Wasi, Jalees Sherwani, Arun Bhairav and Suzanne Label. The movie revolves around the concept of extramarital affair and how it can change the life of a happily married couple forever. Samir Khanna (Salman Khan) and Raina Khanna (Kareena Kapoor) make up a lovable couple. Theirs is a fairytale marriage, with no fights, no disagreements, no arguments and no misunderstandings.
The happy life of Samir and Raina becomes even more blissful when the former lands up with his dream job. In this perfect marriage, the problem comes when one of the partners takes a wrong decision, forcing the two to part ways. Raina ends up falling in love all over again, but not with her husband, rather another man (Sohail Khan). This is when Samir’s friend (Govinda) comes into the picture, to help the estranged couple patch up. Will he be able to do so? If not, what will happen to the once-blissful life of Samir and Raina?
