Lenovo, the Chinese computer-maker recently announced that it will soon introduce a new computer costing $ 200, which will come to approximately around Rs 8,000 in Indian currency. The company executives underscored that their product will be released in the Chinese market first. It is only after receiving response from customers in China that the Lenovo Company will proceed to roll out the product in the Indian one.
The company spokespersons have, however, refrained from divulging full detail about the new computer coming from Lenovo stable as of now. Among the information let out is the fact that the new computer will be Internet-enabled. The company has further vouched to manufacture about five million computers each year in India and also export PC components outside. The time for the introduction of the new computer, however, has not been made public yet.
Lenovo Company is learnt to be drawing plans to export notebooks from its Baddi, Himachal Pradesh unit in India. It is also learnt that the Levono executives have pleaded to the Indian government for a liberal and consistent tax regime in the country in order to help them carry their business proceedings smoothly, which in turn will provide them opportunity for enhanced investment. Let’s hope everything turns out to be hunky dory for the leader in the global PC market.
