Kevin Trudeau

Kevin Trudeau is a famous American author who has penned one of the most controversial books in the non-fiction category; The Weight Loss Cure ‘They’ Don’t Want You to Know About. He is a self proclaimed alternate-medicine advocate and is infamous for his criminal background. Trudeau has produced a number of commercials or rather infomercials, for promoting his products. His infomercials have been a huge hit in America and the audience seems to love it. Through his books, he claims that even health disorder, irrespective of their condition or seriousness can be cured totally with the help of naturopathy and alternate medicine.

Kevin Mark Trudeau was born on February 6th, 1963 in Lynn, Massachusetts in United States. He went to St. Mary’s high School where apparently he was voted “Most Likely to Succeed” by the class of 1981. However, in early nineties, he was required to serve in jail due to a record of illegal activities for which he was proven guilty. He posed a doctor in the year 1990 to deposit $80,000 in false cheques and then pleaded guilty the following year. He also misused the credit cards of around 11 customers and charged them around $122,735, due to which he was sent to jail for two years.

More recently he was accused of falsely interpreting that coral calcium tablets can cure cancer. He was charged of contempt of court and had to pay a sum of $2 million as compensation. He also had to agree to a lifetime ban of promoting his products through infomercials. In the year 2007, the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) claimed that Trudeau through his book, The Weight Loss Cure ‘They’ Don’t Want You to Know About, misguides readers about a simple diet plan that guarantees weight loss. Instead, when the readers go through it, they are given a very complex diet plan that includes extremely strict diet control technique, use of injections and also dietary restrictions for the entire life.

Kevin Trudeau has written books such as Natural Cures “They” Don't Want You to Know About; More Natural “Cures” Revealed; Weight Loss Cure “They” Don't Want You To Know About and the latest, Debt Cure “They” Don't Want You To Know About. All these health books claim that you need not follow any modern branch of medicine but need to take natural products that claim to cure even the most deadly of diseases like cancer. Apparently, these books have sold really well in America and Trudeau has been flooded with endless fan mail, thanking him generously for his advice!

Critics argue that he is nothing but a quack who wants to make some quick bucks by falsely giving hopes to innocent people who become desperate to get rid of a health disorder and often resort to anything that claims the ability to cure. They say that he has no training in medicine or any related field, does no research before claiming about any product, has failed to produce any hard and fast proof of his claims and have also accused him of false endorsements. Trudeau also founded the International Pool Tour, also called IPT that had some of the largest prizes in billiards. His investment attracted pool players from all over the world to invest millions of dollars in order to life up the status of pool as a legitimate sport. But IPT was unable to pay the huge sum from a tournament in Reno. This event had a devastating effect on the pool community throughout.
