To join the brigade of reality shows on television, here is one more, just around the corner. Sony Entertainment Channel is all set to launch it’s yet another singing reality show, called K for Kishore. If not for anybody else, it is surely good news for all the ardent fans of legendary singer, Kishore Da. As the name suggests, K for Kishore is a singing reality show, wherein all the participants will be singing Kishore Kumar’s songs.
The Concept
The underlying concept behind the show is to find a voice, familiar to that of Kishore Da. In its quest, it will take you back to the memory lane, attempting to revive the musical grandeur of the yester years. As a result, all the young men, who consider their voice can create the magic of the maestro, are eligible to participate in the show, from across the country. The winner will be declared as the ‘Heir Apparent’ of Kishore.
The Show
The show is scheduled to be put on air from 21st December and will be telecast on following weekends (Friday and Saturday at 9pm), for consecutive 10 weeks. There will be in all 12 contestants, who will sweat to grab the title. Moreover, the show will be hosted by playback singer and Kishore Da’s fan, Babul Supriyo. Besides, the judges for the show will include music director and singer Bappi Lahiri, famous singer and Kishore Kumar's eldest son Amit Kumar and singer Sudesh Bhonsle, who completed all Kishore Da’s incomplete film songs after his death.
The Other Side
‘K for Kishore’ is a production of Miditech in collaboration with Sony Entertainment Television. The earlier venture of the two was Indian Idol 1, 2 and 3, which reached heights of success. The channel hopes to get lucky a second time and has carefully chosen the production house to weave the magic again. Moreover, Sony TV has even managed to get Radio Mirchi and IBN 7 as media partners, who will take the show across the nation.
