‘Jjhoom India’, if that makes you think another show with celebrities shaking their leg, you are fortunately wrong. For all those who are bugged by the overdose of reality dance shows, here is something different for you. Jhoom India is yet another musical reality show, but with a difference. Though the basic funda of the show remains the same, it has something unique in a way, that you can see your favorite TV celebrities trying their hand at singing!
The Show
Jjhoom India pairs a screen celebrity with a professional singer and exhibits their combined singing talents. The show started on October 27th with ten teams, who sweat, singing their way to the top. Aired on Sahara One, the show is hosted by budding singer Rahul Vaidya, and the vivacious actress Sucheta Khanna. As per the rules, all the teams are asked to perform a song based on a theme, eliminating one team, every week. To add to the zing, the show boasts of an exceedingly qualified jury including, the daring director Mahesh Bhatt, invincible Shabana Azmi and the indomitable music director, Anand Ji.
With such high profile vigilant adjudicators, scrutinizing and meticulously making their decisions, the competition is surely not easy for the contestants. However, the most fascinating part is watching the actors go through rigorous training for their performances, under the guidance of a well known singer, vocal coach and a music director. This ensures that the participants discover their hidden talents and at the same time entertain the viewers. The enthusiasm of the contestants vying for the top slot is enthralling. Catching the latest from the show, six teams were eliminated, out of which two are back in the wild card round. The selected teams are that of Sudesh - Mrinal and Sachin - Madhushree. Besides, it should be noted that while Sudesh - Mrinal were judge’s choice, Sachin - Madhushree were audience choice. With this, there are now total six teams in the competition, other than the above two. These are
