In a glittering ceremony on Saturday night at Mumbai Prachi Desai was declared the winner of Jhalak Dikhhla ja 2. India is getting its own dose of highly stylized entertainment in the form of reality TV these days. With almost every channel coming up with some or the other reality show and talent hunt, Sony has its own delightful program, inspired by the international show ‘Dancing with the Stars’. Jhalak Dikhlaja is all about big celebrities who are recognized for their acting skills, but not really their dancing prowess. Put them with high-profile choreographers and what do you get? A highly addictive potpourri of drama and entertainment and of course, great dancing!
Almost a year after the success of the first season, the second season was started. The judges of the show include Bollywood actress Urmila Matondkar, noted dancer-choreographer Shiamak Davar and yesteryears actor Jeetendra. The judges are as entertaining as the participants! Shiamak Davar knows how to entertain with his broken Hindi accent while Jeetendra is pretty amusing with his run-of-the-mill comments. The atmosphere is pretty decent and relaxed and not the ones with high drama with people screaming on each other and shedding buckets of tears!
The second season of the show came to an end with the finals on Saturday. Noted Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif made special appearance to boost the participants’ confidence. There was a lot of speculation going on among people as to who should be the winner. Though most of the females wanted Jai to win, there many women and men who would voted for Prachi Desai, the ideal daughter-in-law of the Hindi television. Here’s a brief information about all the three finalists of Jhalak Dikhlaja:
Sandhya Mridul and Javed Sanadi
One is a highly talented actress and the other is the one who has honed up his dancing skills. Sandhya Mridul and Javed Sanadi have never let the audience or the judges down and have managed to put up a fantastic performance since day one. They have set the best examples of hard work and dedicated effort. Sandhya has remarkable expressions and dancing comes easily to her. With help from Javed Sandhya was among the top contenders for the trophy but luck was not on her side.
Prachi Desai and Deepak
Prachi, the winner of Jhalak Dikhhla ja, is the popular face of television and rules the primetime with her powerful acting. A terrific pair, Prachi and choreographer Deepak put up wonderful performances on the show and managed to win the final trophy. Though they were eliminated in the middle of the show much to the shock of everyone, they somehow managed a comeback through a wildcard entry. Great comeback indeed!!!!.
Jai and Bindi
Jai is a popular face on television and commands a huge female fan following. Bindi is an exceptional dancer who looks ravishing when performing on stage. Together they managed to put up a spectacular performance and reached the finals. Though they have had their bouts of weak performances, they have somehow always conjured up the precious votes of the audience and managed to stay afloat by substituting one bad performance with a brilliant one.
